What is an ISO20022 CAMT (Cash Management) file?

In ISO20022 terminology, a CAMT (Cash Management) file is a file that contains information about transactions and balances.

The most common XML format for CAMT files is camt.053.001.02 This format is currently supported by iso20022js.

One way to think of it is as a Balance and Transaction API GET request. Instead of sending a REST API request to the bank, you must send a CAMT file, which contains instructions.
